Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, Inc.
Est. 1994
We are 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing companion animals and placing them into foster homes until they can be permanently adopted. Most of the animals rescued come from shelters in the Midcities and Ft. Worth areas, and some are found as strays. All are faced with certain death if not rescued. When an animal is rescued, it is examined by a veterinarian, tested for heartworms and intestinal parasites. They are vaccinated against communicable diseases, de-wormed, treated for any illness or medical problems, and spayed or neutered prior to being placed for adoption.
The animals are placed for adoption through our Adopt-A-Pet program at the Petsmart stores. An adoption fee applies to cover the medical cost, and the adopter is required to fill out a contract.

Homeward Bound Animal Rescue Goals:
- Place unwanted animals into permanent loving homes.
- Educate the public on the importance of spay/neuter to control pet overpopulation. (Each year 10 million dogs and cats must be put to death just because no one wants them.)
- Assist pet owners who cannot afford to spay or neuter their pets through our spay and neuter assistance program.
- Promote the humane treatment of all animals.
